Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of Chitragatha (chitragatha.com), a service of Prygenix Innovations Private Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, India ("we", "us"). By using the site or placing an order you agree to them, together with our privacy policy, cancellation & refund policy and shipping policy.

1. The service

Chitragatha lets you upload photos, have a photo book designed automatically, edit it in your browser, download it as a PDF and order printed copies delivered within India. You can use it as a guest or sign in with an account. You must be 18 or older, or use Chitragatha with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.

2. Guest use and accounts

  • As a guest, your books are linked to this browser by a cookie. If you clear cookies or change device you may lose access to them — sign in to keep them with your account. Books made as a guest move into your account when you sign in.
  • Keep your sign-in email and authenticator app secure. You are responsible for what is done with your account.

3. Your photos and content

  • You keep all rights to your photos and text.
  • You give us permission to store, process, resize, lay out, print and deliver your content, only as needed to provide Chitragatha to you (and to show a shared book to people you send the share link to). This permission ends when you delete the content, except for books already ordered.
  • You confirm that you own your content or have permission to use it, and that it does not break any law or anyone else's rights (copyright, privacy, publicity).
  • Do not upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, shows the abuse or exploitation of anyone (especially children), promotes hatred or violence, or infringes someone else's rights. We may refuse to print, remove such content, suspend access and report it to the authorities where the law requires.

4. Designs, previews and proofing

Auto-design and AI caption suggestions are a starting point — please check your book before you order. You are responsible for reviewing the final book, including spelling, names, dates, photo choice and cropping. The preview shows how your book will look; printed colours can differ slightly from your screen, and photos with low resolution can look soft in print (the editor warns you about these).

When you order, your book is frozen exactly as it is. Later edits don't change that order — order again to print the new version.

5. Prices and payment

  • All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include GST. Shipping charges, if any, are shown before you pay.
  • The first PDF of each book is free. A new PDF after you change the book costs ₹499; downloading an unchanged book again is free, and every PDF of a book is free once you have ordered a printed copy of it.
  • Payments are processed securely by Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets). An order is confirmed only after the payment succeeds.
  • We may change prices at any time; the price you pay is the one shown at checkout. If a price is clearly wrong because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

6. Printing and delivery

Books are printed to order. Production and delivery times are described in our shipping policy, and cancellations, reprints and refunds in our cancellation & refund policy.

7. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Chitragatha: no attempts to break into accounts or systems, overload the service, scrape it, or use it to store files that aren't for a photo book.

8. Our content

The Chitragatha name, logo, website, themes, layouts and illustrations belong to Prygenix Innovations Private Limited. You may use them inside the books you make with Chitragatha, including printing and sharing those books for personal use.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Chitragatha available and your books safe, with daily backups, but we can't promise the service will never be interrupted. Please keep your own copies of your original photos. We may improve, change or stop parts of the service; if we ever close Chitragatha we will give you notice and time to download your books.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending use

You can stop using Chitragatha at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; any orders already paid will still be handled under our refund policy.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly. Any dispute that we can't resolve together will be handled by the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission.
